Seriously, I’m Kidding by Ellen DeGeneres is a light, quick read, good for when your life (or reading list) has perhaps gotten a little too heavy. This reviewer picked it up for a vacation in Europe, and found it entertaining and easy to digest, despite all of the motion-sick medicine and jet lag.
Ellen’s chapters are short and quick, written with a conversational tone. In fact, fans of Ellen may feel like she’s right there with them as they peruse the pages. There isn’t so much of a plot, rather a string of thoughts and ponderings that will make the reader giggle.
If you rush home from work every day to unwind to the hour of silly, positivity-spreading humor that is Ellen’s TV show, then this book will be a portable reprieve from your day (maybe read it on your lunch break?) But, if she’s not your favorite entertainer, then you may want to find another short book written by a celebrity to lighten your day.
Deciding between paperback or audiobook? Reviewer Amber listened to this on audiobook during a long road trip and it made the drive more bearable, and laughable!
