8 of our Favorite 2018 Reading Challenges

2018 Reading Challenges

Jumping into the new year like “I want to read more books this year!”

And then you realize it’s June and you’ve only managed to read a few.

Why not try out a reading challenge to help you stick with your #readinggoals?

Another perk of reading challenges: they can push comfort zones and encourage us to try genres and authors we wouldn’t normally read.

I’ve always loved Modern Mrs. Darcy! The reading challenge this year is pretty straight-forward and seems more doable than the others we’re sharing. All you have to do is subscribe to the MMD Newsletter and you’ll receive your reading challenge kit.

Reading Women Challenge
If you share your progress on social with #ReadingWomenChallenge, it looks like there will be mini giveaways throughout the year!

POPSUGAR’s Reading Challenge
This list includes 50 reading prompts, like “a book with song lyrics in the title” and “a book by two authors.” This list is sure to push your reading boundaries.

Goodreads’ Reading Challenge
You get to set a goal for how many books you want to read this year and track your progress on the site. BTW, if you’re not already on Goodreads, I highly recommend it — great for new book recommendations!

Lake Superior Literati’s Harry Potter Challenge
Amber’s local book club, Lake Superior Literati, decided to read the entire Harry Potter series this year in between the other assigned book club reads. Amber has not read a single Harry Potter book yet, so it’ll be fun to follow along with her first experience as an adult! Stay tuned for reviews on each book throughout the year.

Participating in a challenge or two this year? Let us know! We’d love to follow along and cheer you on.

You’re probably wondering why we’re hosting a Harry Potter reading challenge in 2018?

Harry Potter was so 20 years ago.

Well actually, Foghorn Reviewer Amber hasn’t read a single HP book yet.

So, let’s follow along with her #latetotheHPparty journey by reading all seven books this year.

Harry Potter Book Series

We’d love it if you’d or read along with us! You can read them all in one sitting, or you can mix them in between your other reads.
